Three Arrested After Threat to Rob Latham Gas Station

Three people were arrested on multiple charges after a threat to rob a western Pike County gas station Friday.

Pike County Sheriff Tracy Evans reports that about 5:30pm Friday, a call was made from the Latham 1st Stop gas station on State Route 124, that 31-year-old Columbus Higgins of Latham was harassing the staff and threatening to rob the store.

When Sheriff Evans and his deputies arrived, Higgins dropped a handgun while jumping out of his vehicle, and fled on foot - but was quickly apprehended.

Officers also pursued a vehicle associated with Higgins from the scene to the 5000 block of Grassyfork Road. 26-year-old Anna Leeth and 28-year-old Cody Flint, both of Peebles, abandoned the vehicle on the road and fled on foot, but were later apprehended.

Higgins was taken into custody on an outstanding warrant for aggravated menacing, and was also charged with weapons under disability, resisting arrest, aggravated trafficking in drugs, and failure to register as a sex offender.

Leeth was charged with wrongful entrustment. Flint had a warrant for receiving stolen property, possession of drugs, and failure to comply.

Cash was seized along with drugs and a 9mm handgun.
