Concerns on Highly Contagious Avian Flu

A highly contagious avian flu has been detected in two-dozen states, and 23-million chickens and turkeys have either died of the disease or been killed to prevent further spread.

The Ohio Poultry Association, ODNR and the state's veterinarian are all keeping an eye on this and they say this is probably the worst outbreak since the one seen in 2015.

The Ohio Poultry Association says one case has been detected in Ohio in a domestic backyard flock, and when it comes to wild birds, the ODNR estimates that about 75 have died from the flu in Cuyahoga County.
