After a winter that seems to keep returning, everyone is ready for the local festival known for celebrating the arrival of spring. The 22nd annual "Earth Gathering" blossoms this Saturday, on the grounds of the Pump House Center for the Arts in Chillicothe's Yoctangee Park.
The free festival promotes earth-friendly art, music, food, products, and ideas. Vendors will sell affordable, quality, hand-made art - all without a mass-produced, carnival atmosphere...and with the Chillicothe Art League's free show continuing inside the Pump House.
The artists and organizations come from within a 100-mile radius of Chillicothe. Seven local and regional bands will play during the Earth Gathering between 11am and 6pm April 23rd.
So far, the extended forecast looks great: mostly sunny, with a high near 82...but if severe weather is forecast, the festival will be pushed back to Sunday. Information is posted on the Chillicothe Art League's Facebook page.
