Lawmakers support VA Medical Center

Lawmakers in the Ohio House are hoping their counterparts in the Senate will help save the Chillicothe VA Medical Center. A resolution, sponsored by republican State Representatives Mark Johnson of Chillicothe and Shane Wilkin of Hillsboro, passed the House unanimously Wednesday to urge President Biden not to recommend the facility's closure. The resoluntion now heads to the Ohio Senate for further consideration. The Chillicothe VA serves 20,000 veterans every year. It's the closest care source for veterans in 17 counties across Ohio, Kentucky and West Virginia. Back in March, Congress released a report detailing which VA medical centers were recommended for closure.
