Driver Injured in Semi-Truck Rollover that Closed Freeways at Chillicothe

The driver was injured in a semi-truck rollover on the freeway at Chillicothe.

The Highway Patrol reports that at about 11pm Friday night, 30-year-old Oumaru Sheriff of Hamden, Connecticut, was southbound in a 2022 Peterbilt semi. In the US 23 and US 35 interchange, his truck went across the median and the northbound lanes, before overturning off the east side of the roadway, striking concrete barriers.

Sheriff was transported to Adena Regional Medical Center with minor injuries. US 23 northbound and US 35 westbound lanes were shut down for about five hours, with traffic diverted via East Main Street to Bridge Street.

The Scioto Township Fire Department, Chillicothe EMS, Veteran Affairs Fire Department, Ross County EMA, Ohio Department of Transportation, and Box 65 assisted on scene.
