Hocking County Sheriffs Deputies executed a search warrant Sunday, and found a 3-year-old child locked inside a cage, and a 2-year-old child holding drug paraphernalia. The home on Bear Run Road in Logan was described as being in deplorable condition when Deputies arrived. They went to the residence to execute a warrant related to a sexual assault investigation. There they found the 3-year-old in locked inside a cage and secured with zip ties. The cage was filled with bugs, soiled bedding, and a cup of sour milk.The 2-year-old was found carrying a methamphetmine pipe. The children's parents, 38-year-old Franklin "TJ" Varney, and 25-year-old Megan Smith, fled the scene and are currently at-large. The children's grandmother, 61-year-old Ella Webb, was taken into custody and charged with child endangering.
