A Thursday evening shooting outside the Ross County Sheriffs office in downtown Chillicothe has left a sheriffs deputy hospitalized, and a suspect injured as well. The shooting occured around 5:00 yesterday evening. The investigation has been turned over to the Ohio BCI. Ross County Sgt. Eric Kocheran was wounded and transported to Grant Medical Center in Columbus, where he was listed in stable condition, while the suspect was taken to the Adena Regional Medical Center. Kocheran is a road patrol Sergenant with the department,. Investigators have not provided information on what led up to the shooting. The investigation has been turned over to the Ohio BCI.
