Sam Hunt debuted his latest song, sharing a heartfelt music video packed with home videos that capture childhood in a small town. The country artist released “Start Nowhere” on Wednesday (November 23).

It’s the latest track to release from Hunt that’s inspired by small-town life. The Georgia-born singer-songwriter dropped “Water Under The Bridge” over the summer, a nostalgic anthem that he wrote with Chris LaCorteShane McAnally, and Josh Osborne to serve as “a fun, fast paced trip down memory lane with lyrics and melody reflecting the carefree days of youth,” according to a previously-released press release introducing the song.

“When you grow up in a small town, you love where you’re from, you are where you’re from, and you answer the call of adventure when you turn 18 and take off out into the big wide world,” Hunt captioned an Instagram post as he released “Start Nowhere” on Wednesday. “If you stay gone too long without coming home, you can get a little disconnected. Sometimes the only way to get your feet back on the ground is to go back home where you grew up. Where you grew up climbing magnolia trees, catching tadpoles and lizards, and having pine cone wars with your brothers. Where you spent hours and hours walking around out in the woods with your first .22 long rifle, wearing your grandfather’s hunting jacket and Quail Unlimited hat that smells like smoke.

“You head back to the house and your grandmother makes you a ham sandwich before you plop down in the recliner and watch some soap operas with her for a bit…some ‘Bold and the Beautiful’, or ‘Days of Our Lives,’” his post continued. “Then you grab a fishing pole and head down to the lake to see if the bass are hitting top water yet before it gets too dark. For Christmas you get a mustang mare named Comanche and the saddle and bridle that came with her for 600 dollars. You ride her everyday after school all over Miller Mountain. You start driving yourself home from football practice, eating enough of your mom’s cooking to feed a small army. You’re trying to figure out how not to be awkward around girls. Go through your first break up. Before you head off to college you stop by your local pawn shop, buy a guitar and start writing songs about it. A few songs turn into more songs and somehow by the grace of God those songs give you the opportunity to travel the country with some of the best guys you know having the time of your life. But you look up one day and up is down and down is up. You realize you’ve been gone too long and the only way to straighten yourself back out is to go back home. Thats what this song is about. Going home”
