Ohio lawmakers are working to make swatting a felony offense. House Bill 462 was passed by representatives yesterday, now moving on to the state Senate.
The measure sets up stiffer penalties for individuals who make hoax calls that require a large police response, like a mass shooting or kidnapping.
The bill will be taken up by Senate committees before going to a vote.
