Well-known local doctor Jack Berno died unexpectedly yesterday Thursday afternoon while spending his day off at Adena Regional Medical Center.

It is with great sorrow that Adena shares with you the sad news that our dear colleague and friend, Jack Berno, Jr., MD, passed away unexpectedly yesterday afternoon.
Dr. Berno was a beloved member of our Adena family for over 40 years, serving in numerous leadership positions-most recently as Chief of Staff. A physician dedicated to our community, Dr. Berno followed in his father’s footsteps by entering the medical field, and operated a private practice, prior to joining the Adena Medical Staff in 1982.
Dr. Berno was instrumental in the growth and development of so many of the services and health care providers that make Adena what it is today. His contributions are numerous and his impact immeasurable. Dr. Berno will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
