Chillicothe to Celebrate Ohio Statehood Day in Early March

The City of Chillicothe will celebrate Ohio’s statehood in early March as the Chillicothe Kiwanis Club and the Ross County Ministerial Association host the 57th annual Statehood Day Prayer Celebration.

The Statehood Day Prayer Celebration will begin at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 4th at the First Presbyterian Church of Chillicothe, located at 13 Mead Drive.

The Kiwanis and the Ross County Ministerial Association have co-hosted the event since 1967 to commemorate the founding of the State of Ohio.

Those who’d like to attend the Statehood Day Prayer Celebration can purchase $12 tickets by stopping into the Ross-Chillicothe Convention & Visitors Bureau at 230 N. Plaza Boulevard weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The celebration will be limited to 100 attendees and will feature a continental breakfast prepared by the Huntington School Culinary Fundamentals Class and is included in the ticket cost. There are also several presenters and speakers set to deliver remarks at the event including Ohio Representative Mark Johnson who will present the Statehood Day Address. Additionally, the Chillicothe Kiwanis Club will present the Statehood Day Achievement Award to a deserving community member.
