Car Becomes Trapped Underneath Truck Trailer in Pike County, Two Injured

Two people were taken to hospital early Sunday morning following a two-vehicle crash along US 23 north in Pike County.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol reports that Madison Doss, 23, of Leesburg, and her passenger Tessa Gaffin, of Peebles, were transported to Adena-Pike Medical Center with serious injuries after their Chevy Malibu made an improper lane change and collided with a Dodge Ram with an attached trailer in the adjacent lane.

The impact caused the Dodge to jackknife with the Malibu getting caught underneath the trailer. The driver of the Dodge Ram was uninjured.

The crash took place shortly after 1:00 a.m. on Sunday morning.
