Chillicothe City Council members are preparing for this year’s annual Community Yard Sale Weekends. This year’s Community Yard Sale Weekends will be handled the same as last year, with yard sales to be held in city neighborhoods the weekend prior to their scheduled Large Item Collection week.
That means if you live in an area with Monday trash collection, your Community Yard Sale weekend would take place the weekend prior to your neighborhood’s Large Item Collection week. Residents with Tuesday trash collection would then see their Community Yard Sale take place prior to that week’s collection, and so on.
The Community Yard Sale Weekend allows residents to hold a yard sale without paying the required $5.00 yard sale permit. The request for the yard sale permit waiver is currently under consideration by the Chillicothe Community Affairs Committee.
Chillicothe’s five-week Large Item Collection service begins the week of May 29th.
The full schedule for Chillicothe Large Item Collection is as follows:
Monday: Large Items will be picked up May 29 - June 2
Tuesday: Large items will be picked up June 5 - June 9
Wednesday: Large items will be picked up June 12 - June 16
Thursday: Large items will be picked up June 19 - June 23
Friday: Large items will be picked up June 26 - June 30

Tuesday Trash Collection: Yard Sale Weekend on Saturday and Sunday, June 5 and 6
Wednesday Trash Collection: Yard Sale Weekend on Saturday and Sunday, June 12 and 13
Thursday Trash Collection: Yard Sale Weekend on Saturday and Sunday, June 19 and 20
Friday Trash Collection: Yard Sale Weekend on Saturday and Sunday, June 26 and 27
