The names of two men killed when a small plane crashed at the Madison County Airport on Tuesday evening have been identified.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Athar Mohammad Ashraf, 43, of Columbus and Malik Aftab Naseem, 64, of Alabama, were killed shortly before 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 18th when their single-engine Cessna went down near an airport runway.
The National Transportation Safety Board is working to identify the cause of the crash. The State Patrol says the pilot and co-pilot appeared to be attempting to land the plane when the crash occurred. Witnesses reported the plane overshot the runway, clipped its left wing, and then inverted before hitting the ground.
