The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office is reporting a two-vehicle crash from last week which resulted in three juveniles being transported to Nationwide Children's Hospital with unspecified injuries, and two people being airlifted to a Columbus hospital with serious injuries.
The crash occurred shortly before 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 3rd at the intersection of U.S. 22 and Jamison Road.
Fayette County Sheriff Vernon Stanforth’s office reports Meghan O’Reilly, 24, of Middlefield, had been operating a Ford F-350 with an attached livestock trailer when she entered the intersection at U.S. 22 and Jamison Road an into the path of an Kia Sorento operated by Courtany Graves, 28, of Wilmington.
The two vehicles collided causing O’Reilly’s F-350 to strike a traffic sign and overturn onto its top at the south side of the intersection.
O’Reilly and her unidentified passenger sustained only minor injuries and were treated at the scene by responding EMS. Two sheep that were being transported in the trailer attached to O’Reilly’s truck were uninjured.
The driver of the Sonata, Courtany Graves, and her unidentified front-seat passenger, however, did sustain serious injuries as a result of the crash and were airlifted to Columbus-area hospitals.
Three children in Graves’ Sonata sustained unspecified injuries in the crash and were taken by ground units to Nationwide Children’s Hospital.
Members of Fayette County EMS, Jefferson Township EMS, the Washington Fire Department, Concord-Green Fire Department, and the Ohio Department of Transportation provided assistance at the scene.
