Ohio Retired Teachers to Receive One-Time Cost of Living Pension Increase

Retired teachers across the Buckeye State will be getting a one time cost of living increase in their pension checks.

The board of the State Teachers Retirement System of Ohio approved the increase, which will be one percent and will be applied to checks in July.

The board also agreed to postpone changing requirements from 34 to 35 years of service for teachers to receive full retirement benefits.

The two changes are expected to cost the system 825-million-dollars.
