The original police report:

On June 1st, 2024, while on patrol, Sergeant Taylor observed a vehicle weaving from left to right and right to left crossing over the center line of travel on North Street. Sergeant Taylor activated his emergency overhead lights in an attempt to initiate a traffic stop. The driver of the vehicle continued traveling west on North Street and proceeded into the opposite lane of travel. The driver began accelerating once past Tiger Drive and continued to travel on State Route 220.

Sergeant Taylor then activated his audible sirens. The Ohio Registration was ran through Dispatch and Sergeant Taylor was advised the vehicle was registered to a Samantha Entler whom also shared a Protection Order with Donald Enter. The driver proceeded out State Route 220 and made a right turn onto Pleasant Hill Road traveling in access of 70 mph in a 55mph zone while still traveling into the opposing lane of travel. The operator of the vehicle did not attempt to slow down or stop at the stop sign when turning left onto Buchanan Road. In the area of the 4000 block of Buchanan Road, the passenger threw out a duffel bag that was later collected by Chief Winfield.

The driver once again did not stop for the stop sign turning right onto State Route 220 and continued to travel on both lanes of travel. This continued toward State Route 124. Just prior to Leeth Creek Road the driver slowed down and a male exited the passenger side door. While the male was exiting, the driver accelerated, and the male fell to the ground. Officer Johnson and Lieutenant Cottrell with the Pike County Sheriff's Office were able to take the male into custody without incident. Sergeant Taylor proceeded a few hundred feet and was able to position his cruiser beside the driver side of the vehicle and the female operator came to a complete stop.

Sergeant Taylor exited his cruiser and initiated a felony traffic stop. The female complied with his verbal commands and was taken into custody without incident. Both subjects were identified as Donald and Samantha Entler. Donald and Samantha were then advised of their constitutional rights. A search of the vehicle was completed. Officer Johnson located a pink sparkly bag behind the passenger side seat. In this bag contained a clear bag with a brown colored powder substance and a clear bag with a white colored powder substance. Also in the pink bag were multiple syringes, a digital scale, and empty baggies. Under the front passenger seat, Officer Johnson located two tied baggies that contained a crystal rock substance. All items were collected, photographed and properly logged. All substances will be submitted to BCI for drug testing.

Sergeant Taylor was advised that when Donald was taken into custody, multiple syringes were located on his person. The duffel bag that was thrown from the vehicle and collected by Chief Winfield also had syringes. After the search of the vehicle was completed, a vehicle inventory was taken and the vehicle was then towed to the Waverly Police Department impound lot by Cutler's Towing. Donald and Samantha were then taken to the Waverly Police Department.

Donald Entler had a Felony Warrant through the Pike County Sheriff's Office and the Ross County Sheriff's Office. Donald was also charged with a Protection Order Violation. Samantha was charged with Failure to Comply with a Lawful Order or Signal. Donald and Samantha were transported to the Pike County Sheriff's Office to await housing. Further charges are pending drug results from BCI.

The Waverly Police Department would like to express their gratitude to the Pike County Sheriff's Office for their assistance in this apprehension.
