Chillicothe/Ross Library Celebrates National Library Card Sign Up Month

The Chillicothe and Ross County Public Library is excited to announce its participation in National Library Card Sign Up Month this September.

This annual initiative began in 1987 and is promoted by libraries across the country. Throughout the month, the library encourages people of all ages to explore all of resources, programs, and services available to them by signing up for a library card. As the community comes together to celebrate this month, the library is offering special incentives for cardholders, including:

• Free Card Replacements: A person’s first library card is always free, but during the month of September, there will be no cost for a replacement card. • New Card Designs: The public can choose from a few new card designs starting in September.

• Prize Giveaways: When registering or renewing your library card during the month of September, the patron will be entered into a drawing for prizes that will take place at the end of the month.

• Local Business Discounts: almost 40 different businesses across Ross County will be offering a discount of their choice to residents who show their library card. Visit the library’s website at CRCPL.org/explore for the detailed list. Obtaining a library card is easy and free for residents of Chillicothe and Ross County. Interested individuals can visit any of the library's 8 locations, or sign up online for a digital card through the library's website at CRCPL.org/librarycard.

In a world where information is at our fingertips, the library continues to stand as a pillar of intellectual freedom, guardian of knowledge and culture, and a cornerstone of the community. The Chillicothe and Ross County Public Library is proud to be a part of National Library Card Sign Up Month and invites all community members to get their library cards and embark on a journey of exploration.
