Charles Tassell, one of several Republican primary candidates for Ohio’s Second Congressional District, combines being a church elder, real estate investor, former councilman, and licensed firearms dealer.
He spoke to the lunchtime crowd Thursday at the Republican Women of Ross County in their ongoing series of meet-and-greets.
Tassell says he has worked on such issues as property rights, lowering taxes, unintended consequences of government actions; and life, marriage, and religious freedom. As for education, he says children need to learn to read so they can read to learn.
He explained that he is the CEO of the National Real Estate Investors Association – who are not realtors, but investors: buying, flipping, rehabbing, and bringing property back onto the tax dole…including “zombie properties.”
He is also works for the nonprofit “Citizens for Community Values.”
Tassell pointed out that China is having economic and population issues – and that when a population is in decline, its leadership can get desperate. He also said that the Russian military is not top rate, focusing on inaccurate artillery – but it is able to send out plenty of expendable “cannon fodder” troops.
Tassell says we have the habit of sending people to Congress to fight – but instead, we need them to work for us, not fight. He says he wants “servant leadership.”
He lives in Stonelick Township, Clermont County, in the western end of Ohio’s Second Congressional District. His campaign has a website and Facebook page. (And don’t make the mistake that I did of not including two L’s in his name.)
