Morgan Wallen postponed upcoming shows amid an unspecified illness, the country singer-songwriter announced on Friday (July 12).

Wallen said he “powered through” a performance on Thursday night (July 11) in Tampa, Florida, but he “woke up feeling way worse today.” Rather than taking the stage back-to-back nights, Wallen will cancel Friday night’s concert and reschedule it on October 4. The One Thing At A Time artist will also postpone his shows in Charlotte, North Carolina. Those dates, originally set for July 18 and 19, will now take place on October 18 and 19, he said.

“I hate to reschedule shows but I powered through being sick in Tampa last night, and unfortunately woke up feeling way worse today,” Wallen wrote in his full statement on X, formerly Twitter. “I would not give you guys anywhere near 100% tonight and as a result, I need to move tonight's Tampa show to Oct. 4 and next week's Charlotte shows to Oct. 18 and 19.”
