Ohio Cannabis Dispensaries Begin Recreational Sales

Licensed Ohio marijuana dispensaries are now able to sell their product for recreational use. Last November, Ohio voters approved recreational cannabis use for those 21 and older.

Sunnyside Dispensary spokesperson Jason Erkes called the measure an extension of the medical program.

“The products people can purchase are the same products that have been available for medical patients since the program launched,” Erkes said, “but they’re letting the guardrails down to let anyone over the age of 21 make that purchase.”

Erkes said this will help improve the quality of life for many customers, such as those who may suffer from insomnia or aches and pains but do not qualify for a medical card.

He also said they are prepared for the increase in customer traffic.

"We’re making sure that patients will have priority access to get in the store if there are lines, and that there are products put aside to make sure they can get their medicine,” Erkes said.
