Free agent quarterback Russell Wilson has reportedly reached an agreement on a one-year, $21 million deal with the New York Giants, sources with knowledge of the situation confirmed to ESPN's Adam Schefter on Tuesday (March 25).

Wilson's reported decision will have him return to MetLife Stadium where he led the Seattle Seahawks to a Super Bowl XLVIII win against the Denver Broncos in 2014.

"ESPN Sources: The Giants and Super Bowl-winning QB Russell Wilson reached agreement today on a one-year deal worth up to $21 million, including $10.5 million guaranteed. The 10-time Pro-Bowl selection had been in discussions with the Giants, Browns and Steelers, but is opting for New York, where Wilson won Super Bowl XLVIII in MetLife Stadium. Now, Wilson is returning there as the Giants’ projected starting QB," Schefter wrote on his X account.

Wilson, who spent 10 of his first 13 NFL seasons with the Seahawks, will now join his fourth team in five seasons. The former Wisconsin standout was traded by Seattle to the Denver Broncos and went 11-19 in 30 starts before being released last offseason.

Wilson spent one season with the Pittsburgh Steelers, which included going 6-5 as a starter and making a playoff appearance while throwing for 2,482 yards, 16 touchdowns and five interceptions on 214 of 336 passing and recording 155 yards and two touchdowns on 43 rushing attempts.

The Giants reported agreement with Wilson comes days after the team signed veteran quarterback Jameis Winston to a two-year deal.

"Giants’ QB room currently features Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston at roughly a combined $14.5 million for 2025 — while they also hold the No. 3 overall pick in next month’s draft. Another QB up high still could be an option," Schefter wrote on his X account.
